Childhood accidents

I was posting on my son's blog "It's all about change" regarding a childhood accident that Chris had on a slide at an early age. Two more came to mind.
Terror One
The quick cat incident. Chris was walking in a six wheeled seat at a very young age. He was in the kitchen with his Dad. The cat ran through the room and down the basement stairs. Chris followed. He tumbled down the basement metal edged steps in the walking seat and lived. His mom had him X-rayed head to toe. Not a single broken bone.

Terror Two
Dad and Chris in the kitchen. For some reason picking Chris up and swinging him while holding one leg and one arm seemed like a good idea and caused lots of giggles and laughs. Except dad's hands were slippery or Chris had lotion on his skin with the result that after several swings back and forth Chris was airborne and landed under the dinning room table in the next room clinging to an upright support.

Both terrors were accidents. I never intended to Knock em Out. I did not Knock em out. But childhood seems to be difficult to survive without accidents. I guess that's life. I guess that's why its called an accident.

Perspective on a weekend

At the start of a weekend, all things seem possible as that 48 hours of freedom beckons to be filled. In reality, things rarely turn out as planned.
A wise old doc once told me," If you want to hear God laugh, tell her your plans."
